This past weekend the Trek Canada crew were up in Sudbury, ON for the Canada Cup #3. It was a great, HOT weekend of racing.
We arrived later on Thursday, and had a bit of time to explore Sudbury on our bikes. We saw what I'm going to say the worlds largest nickle. We also hit up fantastic Thai and Mexican restaurants for dinner! It was great to see all the Manitoba gang again as well, and I got to spend some good visiting time catching up with old teammates.
The course was dusty and rocky and it was very hot, well over 30 degrees and not a slight breeze. Thanks to Clif Bar for providing us with great products to help hydrate and fuel ourselves.
I was able to battle it out with Frederique Trudel the entire race with an exciting sprint finish for the top two U23. I got beat at the line, but I was happy to place 6th in Elite Women and 2nd U23.
A big thanks to Taylor Near for all his great help, our bikes were all in perfect condition. More thanks to Trek Bicycles, Sram, Barry Near, Trek Canada and great coaching from Peter Glassford.

Now we are back in Toronto for approx 24 hours to do some laundry and prepare for Nationals at Hardwood this coming weekend! I am happy to see where my fitness is at and I am really excited for the next upcoming races. Stay tuned for updates from the XCE Thursday (eliminator), XC National Championships Saturday and relay Sunday! Check out pulseracing.ca for more information.
On another note we should be able to start eating vegetables from our garden soon; most of it seemed to survive the monsoon-like weather here in Toronto last week.
ALSO- a reminder to please take time to vote for me daily to win $10,000 for the Genuine Health Inner Champion Contest, it literally only takes one second! http://www.genuinehealth.com/innerchampion/karlee-gendron/
